Child Friendly Shopping Centres with Play Areas

Going to a shopping centre with young children can be daunting. Children don’t enjoy looking at clothes as much as mum does and get bored easily. So we have put together a list of child friendly shopping centres with play areas where the little ones can burn some of their energy while mum and dad recharge.

Westfield Warringah Mall

Address: Corner Condamine Road and Old Pittwater Road, Brookvale

Warringah Mall is one of the most child friendly shopping centres on the Northern Beaches with two free soft play areas and lots of ride on toys throughout the centre to make the shopping experience more enjoyable for little ones and more relaxing for mum and dad.  Both play areas are on the ground floor. One is near the fountain next to Three Beans Cafe and has an underwater theme with soft floor suitable for young toddlers and a slide but is outside so it’s not a great spot on a rainy day. The other play area is under cover next to The Coffee Club and has a jungle gym, a play car and a wall maze. Warringah Mall has 7 parent rooms.

Belrose Supa Centa

Address: Corner Forest Way and Mona Vale Road, Belrose

If you want to go furniture shopping or need something from spotlight or Lincraft, Belrose supa centa is an easy place to go with children. It usually isn’t too bust even on weekends and has plenty of ride-on toys scattered throughout the shopping centre and both cafes have high chairs. There is also a fenced-in outdoor playground on the top floor next to subway with lots of seating and sun shade. Belrose Supa Centa has a parent room on the ground floor.

Dee Why Grand

At Dee Why Grand there is a great free play area on the lower ground floor near the food court. It has a big soft climbing structure and is suitable for little kids up to about 5 years old. There is also a parent room.

Address: 197 – 215 Condamine Street, Balgowlah

Stocklands Balgowlah has a fantastic playland for young children where the kids can safely play while mum and dad enjoy a coffee or lunch at the café right next to the play area. The playland has puzzle boards, an interactive TV and is padded so the very little ones can enjoy it too. There is also a fantastic parent room which has a little play area too.

There is also a little free play area on level 2 just outside the many children’s store with a big touch screen TV with games and a few ipads, a soft play mat for little ones to crawl around, a wooden train and beautiful wooden decor.
