Review: birthday party at Wannabees Family Play Town

Northern Beaches Mum Marie organised her daughter’s birthday party at Wannabees and sent us this excellent review...

Before I knew it, I was planning my daughter’s 3rd birthday party. She had been talking about her birthday for months and I felt like this was the first year that she had been very interested in having a party where she could celebrate with her friends. I was thinking of ideas and searching for party places around the Northern Beaches.

I decided to go with Wannabees Family Play Town in Frenchs Forest, because there is so much for the children to experience and the pricing was reasonable too. I was blown away by how easy the whole experience was. The centre provides different types of packages to suit all budgets and needs, and I thought the staff were a pleasure to deal with. Along with the standard packages, they had options to add such as getting a character such as Elsa from Frozen, organising a cake or the balloons. I chose the self explore package for my daughter because most of the children would be around 2 to 3 and I felt they would be better suited to just go and explore themselves rather than trying to be guided by a staff member. This package allowed for a minimum of 6 and a maximum of 15 children and the exclusive use of a party room for 45 minutes where the children could have some food and we got to cut the cake.

There was lots of food for the children with lots of left overs, so the adults got to enjoy some food too! The food included fruit platters, popper juices, popcorn, carrot sticks, corn crips and we got to choose a main meal of either chicken nuggets, pizza or sandwiches. This package also included e-invites which also make the inviting easy. All I had to do was bring the cake on the day.

You can view all the party package options at https://wannabees.com.au/kids-birthday-parties/party-packages/

When we arrived, the staff showed us to our area, gave us a quick run-down of events and introduced us to the friendly staff overlooking the parties… you could tell they were having as much fun as the children. There was also a cafe which was great for the adults to be able to enjoy a coffee on a Sunday morning.

As I looked around, the children were having the time of their life. They got to use their imagination in the child sized city featured fire and police stations, a hospital, a post office, a restaurant, a gym, a TV studio, a radio station and many more iconic buildings. After the children got to play for a bit, the staff hosted a dress up dance party for the children, before it was time to eat and enjoy the cake.

What makes this experience even better is that my daughter has not stopped talking about her birthday party and all the fund that she had had. Thank you to the staff at Wannabees. They took all the stress out of organising a birthday party at this great facility and I would highly recommend for a birthday party for children between 2 and 9 years old.
