Review: Club Med, Bintan Island

Northern Beaches Mum Lauren got the opportunity to head to Club Med Bintan Island with her family. If you are looking for a perfect holiday for all the family, look no further than Club Med Bintan Island…

Just a short smooth ferry trip from Singapore you arrive at the beautiful island of Bintan. We were looking for somewhere to go that suited all our needs so we ventured to Club Med for a relaxing but fun holiday.

The kids club is for children and teens aged 4 to 17. Our two kids were in the teens club which is aged 12 to 17, and they had the time of their lives. Our daughter cried when we left! They had so much fun trying and doing so many amazing things like Trapeze and Snorkelling etc. The younger children paraded around in groups, singing songs and had so much fun doing things like hunting for treasure around the hotel and beach. The kids clubs basically go all day from 8am to 11pm doing one activity after another. If they don?t want to join in one activity then can leave or just sit with their friends chatting and playing.

But the holiday had to be easy and carefree for me and my husband too, I needed a break from work and the cooking, cleaning and entertaining the kids! So the all-inclusive package is just fabulous as there is nothing to do for the adults.

The food here was fantastic and there was pretty much food available all day. There is so much choice at the International Buffet. There?s Indian, Italian, Chinese, Japanese, Indonesian, Roast Dinners, fruit stations, ice cream stations and so much more. What is nice is that it is not all served in large trays where you help yourself, but at all the stations there are staff serving you the dish to you plate. There is also a a la carte restaurant where you can book dinner. Here the food is more limited but served to you. Its in a beautiful tranquil spot over looking the ocean.

The kids can sit with you or sit at the kids club tables. So if you are looking for a few nights without to kids to have a nice meal together you are sorted.

There are a selection of bars and an array of fabulous cocktails, wines, beers etc to chose from all day long.

The entertainment is fun and varied with singing, dancing and comedy etc. Each night the staff put a show on. The kids also get an evening where they put a show on for everyone. The shows vary each night and are well worth going to. After the evening shows there is further entertainment by the pool or beach with entertainers, acrobatic shows, beach parties and foam parties etc.

There are so many sports and activities to do here from Zumba, water aerobics, yoga, meditation, archery, volleyball, football and golf. I think they say there are over 60 different sports and activities including lots of water sports, rides and snorkelling etc. My husband joined in everything going from the Gym, to the fitness bootcamp, onto archery etc.

Myself I did nothing! I visited the day spa and had massages and various treatments. Sat around the pool and the beach only getting up to get another cocktail! I did join in the yoga and meditation but that was as strenuous as my day went.

I can honestly say I had an effortless holiday, relaxed had fun and was happy that my husband and children had an amazing time doing what they wanted to do whilst I got my relaxation and pampering.

It?s a perfect holiday for all family!!
